I was at St Marys Bay for the first time on Wednesday 19/10/16. I noticed the knotweed straight away and as we walked down to the beach realised the place has become destroyed by the place. If you look carefully you can see it everywhere, what a disaster. The walk down is a tunnel through the stuff. I dont know what the council are doing about it, indeed I dont think there is anything that could be done at this stage. A real tragedy, especially as the site has SSSI status!
What a shame. I’ve come across treated patches before, usually fenced off and heavily dosed (I think) with some sort of weed killer. Just pulling or digging out the plant doesn’t do any good. ☹️

See youve been to some stunning spots. Did you walk passed Seacombe Sands, Gara Rock?
I think so, although I’m always a bit hazy with names. If it’s on the SWCP, I’ve walked it!
