3rd Place, in the Best Outdoor Blog category!

I was thrilled to be nominated for a 2015 GO Outdoors blog award.

Thank you to everyone who supported me by voting for my coastal walking blog. It was wonderful to see how many people responded and to read all of your lovely comments.

Sadly, I didn’t win the first prize, but I did come third in what was a close-run race.

The winning blog was Hiking Photographer, by Stuart Hodgson, who walks in the north of England. His photographs are truly stunning.

Second in the line up was Outdoor Chics, by Margaux, who has created a very professional looking site and is well worth a visit.

  1. Congratulations, very well deserved, I’ve never seen a better long-distance walking blog than yours. I can’t wait to read about your adventures in 2016 🙂

No more than you deserve and perhaps a little less. How characteristic of you and your blog to give us links to the 1st and 2nd placed. Hope that you have a great 2016.

Happy New Year Ruth and congratulations on getting a third place.

BTW arrived at Porthmadog, but floods and train strikes are currently thwarting me. Hope to be moving off the Lleyn on Monday.

    • Hi Alan, I saw there was a train strike in Wales today. Hope all is well and you’re not stranded.

Hi Ruth. So close to home, I just go for the day. Using the excellent local bus service walked back from Porthmadog to Llanbedr. It rained alot. Tip for the Bus service is if you need to change bus’es ask if you can just purchase a single ticket, its cheaper!! probably back again on Saturday from Llanbedr to Fairbourne.

Congratulations Ruth. I agree you should have won. Have so enjoyed your blog and it inspired me to start walking some long distance trails. Am starting again in March/April. Just got to decide where to go this time. Have missed having your walks to read about but hope you can start again very soon.
