I walk along the road from the farm, through an area with a strange name – it’s called Back of Keppoch – past campsites and new buildings, until I reach the B8008. Here I turn left and continue northwards, walking against a stiff breeze and following the road across a stretch of flat land.

There’s only one other person waiting to board the train at Morar station. It’s a very short ride to Arisaig, and I never get a chance to buy a ticket. (I’m not happy about this, partly because I’m an honest person, but mainly because train companies have a good excuse to close stations if it appears no-one is using them.)

I walk through trees, sometimes in shade, sometimes in sunshine. Glad to be off the road, this is a wonderful track. The woods look old, although there are signs of recent logging activity.

I catch the train to Lochailort station. Sadly, it’s not a steam train, just an ordinary diesel. Back on the A830, and I anticipate easy road walking as I head towards Arisaig.

At first I think this roadside sign is warning me about cows, then I realise it’s a warning about sheep, and I relax. (Actually, I think the picture looks more like a little Scotty dog!)
I’m back in Glenuig, where I plan to leave my car near the bus stop. The shop and museum are both still closed this morning.

I’ve returned to Scotland after only a week at home, because the weather forecast looked set relatively fair. I start my walk from the point I ended last time – the car park by St Finan’s church.

I’m supposed to be returning home to Manchester today. But, when I wake up to blue sky and bright sunshine, I decide to go for a little walk this morning before setting off. So, I return to the Forestry Commission car park at Ardmolich Wood.

I drive to the Forestry Commission car park for the Ardmolich woods, a sloping area of tarmac near the top of a steep hill. A large information sign suggests a stroll around the woodland, while a smaller sign tells me this is the beginning (or the end) of the Silver Walk.
Time to leave Castle Tioram and complete my circular walk – well, my figure of 8 walk, to be totally accurate. I climb down off the rocks, shrug my rucksack onto my shoulders, and set off across the causeway.
